Every building is different, and so is every timber or damp-related problem. The age, construction, materials, condition and environment of a building can all influence how a problem develops and, importantly, how it should be treated.
Our approach is therefore based on finding the right solution for the individual situation, rather than applying a standard treatment to every property. Following a thorough inspection, we assess the nature and extent of any issue, identify the underlying cause and consider the most appropriate method of repair or treatment.
Where timber is affected by insect activity, fungal decay or moisture, treatment can be targeted to the areas and conditions that require attention. Likewise, damp problems may require anything from a simple repair or improvement in ventilation to more extensive remedial work, depending on the cause.
We aim to provide practical solutions that are appropriate to the building, proportionate to the problem and designed to provide long-term protection. In some cases, the best solution may be straightforward preventative maintenance; in others, targeted treatment or timber replacement may be necessary.
